Julie Byrd
Cofounder of Balance Your Body Yoga, Julie has been a yoga instructor since 1990.
She brings with her a background in human biology, chiropractic, Tai Chi, and Meridian Balance.
Her background in human biology gives yoga teachers innovative tools to
communicate the benefits of Balance Your Body Yoga.
She has a unique capacity, a flair, for translating the complex language of western
anatomy into usable, practical concepts. She makes learning the names of bones,
muscles and connective tissues easy and interesting, so that yoga teachers can successfully
integrate this knowledge into their teaching.
She teaches why and how we are different from each other, the skills to identify these
differences and the tools to bring each individual into a state of harmony and balance.
The classes she offers are filled with lighthearted fun, but also are grounded in scientific
details.
Julie is an ERYT 500, Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor.
She teaches yoga and core conditioning classes in Houston throughout the week.

Amy Garratt
Cofounder of Balance Your Body Yoga, Amy began teaching yoga in the 90's, drawing on a
teaching background of pilates, fitness, dance and athletics. Her pursuit of knowledge about
the human body and human performance have lead her to study different
yoga styles, fitness programs and healing techniques as well as extensive studies
in human anatomy and physiology.
Amy's focus is on balancing
muscle structures, and guiding each student to use the methods offered in Balance Your
Body Yoga training as a
method in their search for health and well-being.
With Amy's compassionate guidance and enthusiasm, students learn to adapt poses and
exercises in order to teach yoga from a safe, intelligent and well-laid foundation.
She is an international instructor and teaches classes in Europe as well as
the United States.
Amy is an ERYT 500, Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor. She offers classes in Houston throughout the week.

Robert Boustany
Yoga master, Robert Boustany, has been inspiring yoga students with his brilliant instruction of Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan and Qigong for more than thirty eight years.
Robert received his Masters Degree in Physics from Rice University in 1973.
He is a charismatic and sought after expert in the yoga field and has been the primary influence in the development of some of the most well known instructors in Texas.
Robert has developed and pioneered his own individual and specialized system of yoga called Boustany Hatha Yoga (Pralaya Yoga).
Boustany Hatha Yoga promotes the understanding of physical and energetic alignment for maximum functional strength and flexibility.
Robert is an ERYT 500, Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor.
He teaches yoga classes throughout the week.

Julie Downey
Julie has been teaching yoga since 2003. She has a background in massage therapy, a B.A. in English and has taught West Coast Swing dancing.
Her instruction focuses on Functional Yoga Training which promotes the understanding of physical and energetic alignment for maximum functional strength and flexibility.
She has been the team yoga instructor for the Houston Rockets and various sports teams at Rice University including Football, Baseball, Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball and Soccer, training the players in yoga as part of their strength and conditioning programs.
Julie is an RYT, Yoga Alliance Certified Instructor.
She offers private and group yoga and qigong instruction at gyms, clubs and corporations throughout Houston.
